Meta’s Twitter rival app Threads’ first month report card is out. It was stated that Threads user data for Android was almost zero. It was stated that the daily usage time decreased to only 3 minutes. So what will Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg do to save Threads?

Twitter rival app Threads struggles to keep users

According to new data from analytics firm Similarweb, Threads has seen a huge drop in daily active users since its launch in early July. Threads, which reached 50 million daily active Android users worldwide shortly after its launch, has experienced a 79 percent drop as of August 7. Accordingly, the number of users on Android dropped to 10.3 million.

There was also a sharp decline in engagement. The report data revealed that the average time spent on the app decreased by nearly 80 percent, from 14 minutes to 3 minutes worldwide.

Threads introduces new feature to connect with Instagram

Threads, Meta's latest social media venture, has introduced a new feature that will increase engagement with Instagram.

In contrast, Threads’ rival app X (Twitter) continues to grow. Reports say there are more than 100 million active Android users who spend around 25 minutes a day on the app. This means that X has almost 10 times more active users than Threads.

In the US, for example, Threads reached 2.3 million daily active users when it was introduced. Since then, however, it has dropped 76 percent to 570,000. In its first week, the app had almost the same engagement time as X, but is now well behind.

Social media experts attribute Threads’ falling engagement to a lack of engaging content and social dynamics compared to X. Let us remind you that the app has recently received new features that increase interaction with Instagram.
