Meta will finally launch Threads in Europe!
Threads was released in an environment where Musk was pushing its users. Elon Musk literally pushed users towards Threads. Threads took off very quickly in the beginning. This rapid rise did not last long. Meta’s social media app Threads has a huge disadvantage compared to its arch-rival X, formerly known as Twitter. Threads is not used in European Union countries.
It launched Meta Threads in 2023. But Threads never became a truly global application. The possible reason for this is that Meta wants to process the data abroad. The EU does not like this situation very much.
That’s why Threads is not available in Europe. Although it is not legal methods, European users use this application with VPN support. However, in this way, Threads cannot stand against Musk’s X.
This will change very soon. Meta is preparing to launch Threads in Europe in December. In this way, Threads will reach more users. Meta will give users in the EU the option to use it purely for consumption and without a profile that allows them to create their own posts.
With the launch of Threads in the EU, an additional 40 million monthly users will join the application in 2024. Compared to Twitter, Threads will have 73 million monthly users worldwide, according to current estimates.
