The developer of TikTok, one of the world’s most popular social media platforms, ByteDance, is gearing up to launch a new digital music service called TikTok Music. The pricing and features of this service, which will rival Spotify and YouTube Music, have been revealed.
TikTok Music is on its way!
TikTok, a leading short-form video content platform with millions of users, is now preparing to launch TikTok Music, following its trademark application last year.
ByteDance recently announced that it will introduce a subscription-based digital music service called TikTok Music in Brazil and Indonesia. The service will include tracks from various companies, such as Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music, in its song library.
According to the company, users will be able to synchronize their TikTok accounts with TikTok Music. They will also be able to download songs and share them on other platforms. The service will offer personalized music recommendations, allowing users to listen to the full versions of songs that have gone viral on TikTok.
The disclosed information indicates that TikTok Music will feature real-time lyrics, the ability to listen to the same song simultaneously with friends, importing your song library from other digital music services, and searching with song lyrics. In addition, there will be features like music search by sound, similar to what Shazam does, and offline listening, similar to Spotify Premium.
TikTok Music will replace ByteDance’s existing digital music service, Resso. The pricing for TikTok Music will be $3.49 per month in Brazil and $3.25 per month in Indonesia. It is worth noting that there won’t be a free option, but a one-month trial will be available.
