Toyota has officially unveiled the Land Cruiser FJ, its eagerly awaited mini off-road vehicle. Unveiled just ahead of the Japan Mobility Expo, the vehicle has attracted attention with its compact dimensions and retro look that maintains the iconic Land Cruiser design lines. This new model, approximately 28 centimeters shorter than the Land Cruiser Prado, offers customers a more accessible and affordable option.

The Land Cruiser FJ is 4.57 meters long, 1.85 meters high, and 1.96 meters wide. Its wheelbase is 2.58 meters. Built on the IMV platform, the mini Land Cruiser is powered by a 2.7-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine under the hood.

This engine produces 161 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. Power is transferred to the road via a part-time all-wheel drive system, and transmission is provided by a 6-speed transmission.

Toyota designed the new FJ as a fully customizable vehicle. The vehicle’s MOLLE panels allow for easy attachment of various equipment. Images prepared for the press showed the FJ with a snorkel accessory. Furthermore, the removable front and rear corner bumpers allow for easy maintenance by allowing for the replacement of only the relevant small part in the event of damage.

The design maintains the classic Land Cruiser heritage. Round headlights, thick body guards, and a tailgate-mounted spare tire add a charming, retro touch. The interior, with a large gear lever, a horizontally positioned infotainment screen, and a robust dashboard, embodies a typical Toyota atmosphere.

The new Land Cruiser FJ will make its debut at the Japan Mobility Expo, which begins at the end of this month. The model will go on sale in Japan in mid-2026. Toyota currently has no sales plans for the European and US markets.
