In a pilot project launched in China, traffic police officers have begun using AI-powered smart glasses to perform real-time questioning and scanning.

These smart glasses make it much more practical for traffic police to scan vehicle license plates and access driver data instantly. The results obtained thanks to the 12-megapixel camera on the glasses are immediately displayed on a mini projection screen.
These technological devices can be used for up to eight hours on a single charge and also have additional capabilities such as real-time translation into up to ten different languages and video recording. It is stated that a tablet or smartphone is used as the data source for the system, but this connection point is not entirely clear.
In China, the digital surveillance of citizens is already at the highest level. From identity verification to facial recognition, it is almost impossible for citizens to evade the system. Those who commit crimes or have a criminal record are quickly blacklisted thanks to this massive database.
Newly introduced smart glasses can use this large database to perform traffic control operations in as little as ten seconds. This allows law enforcement to identify suspicious situations within seconds.
