Turkish Airlines (THY), the airline that flies to the most countries in the world, has officially carried the title of airline flying to the most countries in the world to Guinness World Records and ensured that Turkey’s name is once again included in the book of records. Operating active flights to 120 countries, THY has once again proved its leadership in the global aviation sector with this success. Here are the details…

The Guinness World Records certificate was presented to Bilal Ekşi, General Manager of Turkish Airlines, at a ceremony held at Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport after Turkish Airlines’ first flight to Chile. Guinness World Records representatives and THY executives were also present at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ekşi said that they were delighted to receive this record in a destination with such historical and cultural richness as Chile and added, ‘We are strengthening our mission to connect people, cultures and destinations around the world.’ Guinness representative Talal Omar said that this achievement confirms the vital role Turkish Airlines plays in global aviation.

According to the evaluation criteria of Guinness World Records, THY, which was awarded this title with 120 countries actively flown to in the last 12 months, has expanded its flight network to 131 countries with the launch of flights to Chile.

The new route increased the number of countries served by THY in the American continent to 10. Flights from Istanbul to Santiago will be organised four times a week with a connection to Sao Paulo and will make a great contribution to the American continent network, which has reached 26 destinations.
