Turkish Airlines celebrated the record in Chile!
The Guinness World Records certificate was presented to Bilal Ekşi, General Manager of Turkish Airlines, at a ceremony held at Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport after Turkish Airlines’ first flight to Chile. Guinness World Records representatives and THY executives were also present at the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ekşi said that they were delighted to receive this record in a destination with such historical and cultural richness as Chile and added, ‘We are strengthening our mission to connect people, cultures and destinations around the world.’ Guinness representative Talal Omar said that this achievement confirms the vital role Turkish Airlines plays in global aviation.
According to the evaluation criteria of Guinness World Records, THY, which was awarded this title with 120 countries actively flown to in the last 12 months, has expanded its flight network to 131 countries with the launch of flights to Chile.
The new route increased the number of countries served by THY in the American continent to 10. Flights from Istanbul to Santiago will be organised four times a week with a connection to Sao Paulo and will make a great contribution to the American continent network, which has reached 26 destinations.
