Turkey produced its own SoM module that can be used in defense industry!

Ana sayfa / Technology

System-on-System Module technology is produced by a few countries around the world. These technologies, which can be installed on a carrier card for the embedded system, are used in many areas from the defense industry to industrial activities. A local company has announced that it has developed a System On-Board Module named BitFlex-SPB-A7.

ELECTRA IC, operating within Teknopark Istanbul, has introduced a locally developed System-on-Module (SoM) design. The SoM technology developed by the local electronics company can bring together basic components such as processor, communication modules and memory on a single printed circuit board.

ELECTRA aims to facilitate the development of complex systems with its new module. The SoM, called BitFlex-SPB-A7, is powered by the 7th generation AMD Xilinx FPGA chip. According to the company’s statement, FPGA technology can be used in radar systems, wireless communication devices and electronic warfare systems.

ELECTRA IC Managing Partner İsmail Hakkı Topcu said, “All these processes were completed in about 1 year. Thus, companies in our country will now be able to supply this product from us domestically and nationally instead of importing similar products.”

Topcu also underlined that SoM technology was developed entirely using domestic resources. Thus, industrial organizations will be able to meet their similar needs with domestic production.

ELECTRA IC stated that it will offer the product for sale in the global market thanks to its partnership with AMD. Teknopark Istanbul General Manager Muhammet Fatih Özsoy stated that BitFlex-SPB-A7 will make a significant contribution to domestic production.
