There has been an important development in Turkey’s new domestic electric car sector. Agrotech took a remarkable step in the automotive sector by acquiring 75 percent of Joyce Electric Vehicle Technologies. With this acquisition, it was announced that Turkey will produce electric vehicles with 100 percent locally produced engines, batteries and electronic systems.
Agrotech-Joyce cooperation pays off with domestic electric car
Among the newly introduced models is the “VC3” hatchback for families. This five-door, five-seater electric car combines comfort, elegance and quality in the A00 class. In addition to its smart technologies, it will have a strong charging infrastructure and range.
Another model, the “EC5”, is a smart boutique vehicle that prioritizes intelligence and quality. This five-door and four-seater model has an elegant design in the A00 class. “EX3”, the tough SUV model of the series, draws attention with its durable design. With five doors and four seats, this A0-class vehicle aims to offer a safe and comfortable drive.
The last model, the three-door, four-seater, which is economical and encourages sharing, is ideal for urban use. Looking at the technical specifications of this new series, all models are front-wheel drive and have a fixed speed ratio transmission.
The vehicle measures 3500 mm in length, 1500 mm in width and 1530 mm in height. The wheelbase is designed as 2360 mm and has a 400V platform. Using permanent magnet synchronous motor type, 15/30 kW nominal power can be produced. In these models using Lithium Ion as the battery pack, the capacity of the battery is 15kWh. The vehicle weighs 805 kg.
Developed by Joyce Electric Vehicle Technologies, these new domestic electric vehicles will be launched on October 29. The hatchback model will be offered for sale with a price tag of 699 thousand TL ($22,000) and the commercial model with a price tag of 1 million 199 thousand TL ($37,000).
