Cockpit window cracked! Turkish Airlines makes emergency landing in Istanbul!

A Turkish Airlines (THY) plane flying from Istanbul to Sivas, flight number TK-2658, encountered a dangerous situation shortly after takeoff. The Boeing B737-800 aircraft took off from Istanbul Airport at 08:25 AM and soon after, a crack developed in the cockpit window.

Following this unexpected issue, the pilot immediately contacted the air traffic control center to report the situation and requested permission for an emergency landing. Thanks to the pilot’s calmness and professionalism, the aircraft safely landed back at Istanbul Airport at 09:10 AM.

Prioritizing passenger safety, the aircraft was quickly taken for maintenance, and procedures were initiated to replace the cockpit window. During this period, passengers on board were redirected to another aircraft for their continued journey to Sivas.

Officials from Turkish Airlines assured that all necessary checks were conducted following the incident and that all precautions were taken to ensure passenger safety. They also emphasized that regular maintenance and checks are performed on aircraft to prevent such occurrences.
