Apple unveiled its new operating system for Apple TV, tvOS 26, at the WWDC 2025 event. The most notable new feature of the update, set to be released this fall, is the comprehensive redesign of the user interface.

The new design language, dubbed “Liquid Glass,” creates a more immersive and dynamic visual experience by real-time refraction of surrounding colors in interface elements. The TV app also adopts this new design, making content-focused areas like poster images more eye-catching.
tvOS 26 also brings improvements to Apple Music Sing. Users can now use their iPhones as portable microphones to enjoy a more realistic and fun karaoke experience. This feature further deepens the integration between iPhone and Apple TV.
There is also an important new feature for user profiles. When Apple TV wakes up from sleep mode, it can now automatically display the profile selection screen. This feature allows multiple users in the home to quickly access their own content lists and recommendations.
The update also introduces new Aerial screen savers. These dynamic screen savers continue to enhance the visual aesthetics of tvOS. Additionally, Apple TV can now pair with any AirPlay-enabled speaker for permanent audio output, not just HomePods. This makes Apple TV an even more flexible media hub.
