Pokimane announces she’s leaving Twitch
In a post on his X account, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, a 27-year-old Canadian of Moroccan descent, announced that she will leave Twitch, where he has been streaming for years, and continue her streaming career on another platform.Since 2013, Pokimane has gained popularity for her League of Legends and Fortnite streams on Twitch, and she was, and still is, Twitch’s most followed female streamer.
She announced her retirement from Twitch with these words:“It’s the end of an era. Twitch was my home for 10 years. But now it’s time to thank it for the memories and love from my LoL, Fortnite, and Among Us days.”
The official Twitch X account responded with the following:
“What an incredible journey this has been. We’re so proud of what you’ve accomplished and what the future holds. Twitch will always be your home, Poki.”
It’s unclear where Pokimane will go now that he’s leaving Twitch. If he decides to continue live streaming, there are many options including Facebook, Kick (where Amouranth and xQc also went) and YouTube.During this period, many Turkish streamers have also announced that they are leaving Twitch and moving to other platforms. For example, Miafitz, one of the most followed and successful female streamers in Turkey, announced that she was leaving Twitch and moving to Kick.
