Twitter Blue, the subscription-based service offered by Twitter, continues to add various advantages for its users. Not only do subscribers gain the prestigious blue checkmark, but they also enjoy a reduced ad presence on the platform. In a significant move, Twitter has decided to give its Blue subscribers even more freedom when it comes to the character limit in tweets.
Twitter Blue subscribers can now express themselves with extended Tweet’s
According to an announcement on the official Twitter Write account, the character limit for Twitter Blue subscribers has been increased to a staggering 10,000 characters. This not only enables longer tweets but also allows for enhanced features such as bold and italic text formatting support. Previously, Twitter had increased the character limit to 4,000 for Twitter Blue subscribers. The platform decided to raise the limit once again, shortly after implementing the initial change in February.
This decision marks a departure from Twitter’s original goal of encouraging users to express themselves using as few characters as possible. However, it also acknowledges the platform’s evolution into a news and information hub, where many users can now share their thoughts and ideas without limitations.
Twitter’s new announcement further enhances the privileges provided to its Blue subscribers. In addition to the extended character limit, subscribers enjoy various other benefits, including:
- Blue checkmark, indicating verified status
- Bold and italic text formatting support
- Folders for bookmarking tweets
- Custom app icon on phone applications
- Multiple themes and a customizable menu
- Ad-free article reading
- Reading Mode with adjustable text size for easier reading
- Ability to undo shared tweets
- Prioritized comments on tweets
- Video uploads up to 60 minutes long and 2 GB in file size
This new feature empowers Twitter Blue subscribers to create content with virtually no character constraints. What are your thoughts on Twitter Blue and the new 10,000-character limit? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
