Twitter is making new improvements to make the platform more eye-catching, this includes “Edit Tweet”. Twitter made a big surprise in the past months and stated that they are working on the “Edit Tweet” feature. The company, which made this announcement after Elon Musk’s statements and thus pleased many tight users, has not yet introduced the new feature.
Twitter Adds the “Edit Tweet” Button
According to the statement, the feature will come at the end of the month and will be exclusive to paid Twitter Blue subscribers at first. The platform, which will show that an edit has been made on the tweet, will allow the tweets to be edited more than once within 30 minutes of being posted.
Twitter wants to make this feature available in its best form. For example, if changes are made to Tweets placed on other sites, the company will not show this change directly. In other words, there will be no “auto-update” system in Tweets. Instead, the warning “There is a new version of this Tweet” will be added to the bottom of the tweet.
This is seen as a logical step because news content is built on tweets. If such a step were not taken, most journalists or editors would have to take screenshots of possible changes rather than embed Tweets. The company that will take the right step by preventing this will provide more information about the feature later.
“Like any new feature, we’re testing the Edit Tweet feature with a smaller group to help us identify and fix potential issues before they’re released to the public. Since this is our most requested feature, we want to make sure we get it right. From testing, we hope to quickly understand how this new feature is used and its impact on the way people read and write Tweets.” Twitter said in a statement.
About the feature
Edit Tweet is a feature that allows people to edit Tweets after they published. For this test, Tweets can be edited multiple times within 30 minutes of posting. Edited Tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and hashtag so readers will clearly see that the original Tweet has been modified. Tapping the hashtag will take viewers to the Tweet’s Edit History, which contains past versions of the Tweet.
