The Sun can occasionally experience explosions. These explosions emit strong radiation into the surrounding space. According to a statement from the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), in recent days, there were two consecutive explosions on the surface of the Sun. NASA shared a brief segment of the moment of the explosion.
Scientists say that these explosions will increase even further!
In recent days, NASA announced that there were two powerful explosions on the Sun. These explosions, which were quite intense, also had a negative impact on certain radio waves on Earth.
NASA shared a snippet of these occurrences on their Twitter account. The shared moment pertains to an explosion that took place on August 7th. These explosions are categorized as the most severe class of solar flares, designated as class “X” flares. Their intensity was determined to be of X1.5 magnitude.
Experts issued warnings that radioactive particles propelled into space due to the August 7th explosion have reached Earth. Upon the arrival of these particles on Earth, a solar storm occurs.
The previous explosion occurred on August 5th. This explosion was more powerful compared to the other one. NASA categorized this explosion as X1.6. A solar physicist named Keith Strong added that this explosion caused radio interruptions in the Pacific Ocean. He also noted that frequencies below 5 MHz were affected.
Scientists, on the other hand, point out that these explosions on the Sun will increase even more within a few years. The reason for this is stated to be that the Sun is currently in an active phase. The Sun completes a cycle of calm and stormy periods every eleven years. Afterward, it begins a new one.
