Two more iPhone models added to the vintage list!

Ana sayfa / News

Apple has once again stirred up nostalgia by adding certain devices to its list of vintage and old products. With the latest update, the iPhone XS Max, released in 2018, and the iPhone 6s Plus, introduced in 2015, are now among the vintage products. Apple Watch Series 2 models were also added to the vintage list and removed from official support.

First of all, if we talk about what the Vintage list is, we can say that it includes devices that Apple has discontinued and that have been on the market for 5 to 7 years. These devices can still be repaired in some cases, but only if the necessary spare parts are available. Interestingly, the iPhone 6s Plus is also included in this list, even though it was introduced 3 years before the XS Max. This is a result of the iPhone 6s Plus having been on the market longer.

These two devices were among Apple’s flagship models at the time of their release. The XS Max in particular stood out as Apple’s largest-screened iPhone at the time, boasting a Super Retina OLED display, Face ID technology and a powerful processor, while the iPhone 6s Plus made waves with its 3D Touch display technology and stabilized camera system. Now these devices have been replaced by newer models.

All models of the Apple Watch Series 2 have also been placed on the obsolete list. The obsolete category means that it has been more than 7 years since a device was discontinued. Legacy products are not among the devices for which Apple provides repair and spare parts support. So if you own these smartwatches, you will no longer be able to get an official repair service from Apple.

Vintage products: Devices that have been discontinued for 5 to 7 years. They can be repaired if parts are available.

Vintage products: Devices removed from sale more than 7 years ago. No repair service is available.

With this listing, Apple is encouraging users to upgrade to newer and technologically advanced models, while leaving its older devices behind. Do you still have one of these models? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
