Uber, the world’s most famous international transportation network company, has launched a very interesting campaign. The San Francisco-based company has officially announced that it will give a $1000 reward to a certain number of vehicle users to draw attention to sustainable transportation.
In an official statement, Uber announced the ‘One Less Car’ project to focus on sustainability. Accordingly, a total of 175 selected people from the United States and Canada will receive a $1000 reward on the condition that they do not use their car for 5 weeks.
Uber to give $1000 to those who give up driving
Uber aims to protect the environment and reduce carbon footprints by encouraging people to reduce car usage and discover alternative transportation methods. Participants in the campaign will not only earn financial benefits but also have the opportunity to experience Uber services.
According to information from Uber, those who manage not to start their car for a total of 5 weeks will receive a $1000 reward and different transportation options provided by Uber. Additionally, users will be given an Uber One membership for a month, allowing them to make food and grocery purchases for free.
Adam Gromis, Uber’s Global Head of Sustainability Policy, made the following statement regarding the issue:
“Many Uber users say they want a lifestyle that uses less car with various transportation modes such as public transportation, shared bikes and scooters, walking, and car sharing. This study is critical for us to understand how we can make a car-free life possible for more people who want to save money, reduce emissions, and save time spent in traffic.”
What do you think about this? If you live in the USA or Canada, do you consider participating in this campaign? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
