Ubisoft confirms remakes of old Assassin’s Creed games are coming
Although it is not yet clear which games will be remade, this means that these old games will be modernized and revisited. Guillemot stated, “Some remakes will excite our players and allow us to modernize the games we created in the past.”
The statements made also indicate that a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag might be on the way. According to Kotaku, this remake is still in the early stages of development and may take years to release. Black Flag is known as one of the beloved games in the series and was praised for its pirate ship mechanics.
In addition to the announced remakes, Ubisoft promises to offer more variety to players in the future of the Assassin’s Creed series. Assassin’s Creed Hexe, about which very little is known, will offer a very different experience from previous games. Guillemot mentioned, “Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be a very different game from what we have announced. We will surprise people.”
Furthermore, addressing current issues in the gaming industry, Guillemot talked about the potential of generative AI to improve NPCs and condemned online toxicity. As a result, Ubisoft’s new remake projects and future games could mark a new era for Assassin’s Creed fans.
