Ubisoft has established a new game studio: Why?

Ana sayfa / News

Gaming giant Ubisoft announced the establishment of a new studio, Vantage Studios, to more effectively manage its largest and most popular franchises. This new structure will oversee all development processes for flagship franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.

Vantage Studios is based on Ubisoft’s “creative House” model, a creative production model. Through this studio, the company aims to centralize both the technical and creative processes of its games.

Currently employing 2,300 people, the studio will operate from multiple locations worldwide. The studio’s teams are located in Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, and Saguenay in Canada, as well as Barcelona and Sofia in Europe.

The new studio’s management team includes prominent figures. The CEOs are veteran Ubisoft executives Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot. The fact that Charlie Guillemot is the son of Ubisoft founder Yves Guillemot highlights the shift in this restructuring, which places greater responsibility on younger leaders within the company.

Another notable detail in this new structure is the partnership with Tencent. Chinese tech giant Tencent will acquire a 25% stake in Vantage Studios. This strategic partnership provides Ubisoft with significant financial support and aims to strengthen its presence in global markets, particularly in Asia.

Analysts indicate that this move signals that Ubisoft may pursue similar restructurings for other game franchises on the platform in the future. What are your thoughts on this? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
