Ubisoft may announce the long-awaited remake this year

Rumors are circulating that this year’s Ubisoft Showcase event will introduce a remake of a game that fans have been waiting for a long time. Although Ubisoft announced this remake last 2021, it has been very secretive about updates on the project.

Splinter Cell remake will allegedly be introduced this year

Some people in the gaming world believe that Ubisoft has been dropping hints that it will unveil the Splinter Cell remake this year, and they are very hopeful that these rumors could be true.

According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the Ubisoft Toronto team updated their Facebook header and profile picture on the same day that Ubisoft announced the return of the Ubisoft Forward event. Ubisoft Toronto’s profile picture is now a green-themed Ubisoft logo. The header image clearly shows the lights from Sam Fisher’s iconic Multi-Vision Goggles.

Ubisoft’s last update from 2022 suggested that the game might not be ready for a few years. That’s because the company is busy rebuilding the game from the ground up, and that process involves a lot of innovation, including updating the story for a modern audience.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell was originally released for the Xbox in 2002 and has since gained a huge fan base. Ubisoft is known to have taken inspiration from the Metal Gear Solid series for this game. This allowed the game to have a more direct storyline and made the spy fiction more appropriate to the era of the game.

Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell game series has created its own unique style, despite being inspired by Tom Clancy’s novels. Yet the influence of Tom Clancy’s novels is still evident in the story and atmosphere of the games.

While Tom Clancy’s novels reflect Cold War-era values and America’s distrust of the Soviet Union. Ubisoft’s game series is based on action/stealth scenarios inspired by the Metal Gear Solid series.

Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell remake has caused quite a stir in the gaming industry, not to mention the fact that the game will appeal to a new generation of gamers.
