Ubisoft has been working on the Watch Dogs movie adaptation for some time. After years of uncertainty, the adaptation of the popular action game is finally complete. Ubisoft announced the milestone on its official account by sharing a photo taken on set.

The movie was first announced in 2013, with a script by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the writers of Zombieland and Deadpool. However, the project was repeatedly delayed for various reasons. In 2020, Mathieu Turi was brought in the director’s chair and revived with a new script penned by Christie LeBlanc.

With the completion of filming, the Watch Dogs movie is now in post-production. The movie centers on the adventures of hacker Aiden Pearce in a virtual city. For this reason, it is possible that visual effects will be used intensively and the post-production process will take a long time.

Xbox and AMD join forces for handheld console!

Tom Blyth and Sophie Wilde will star in the movie. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Blyth has not been involved in a new project recently. Wilde debuted with the horror movie Talk to Me. Mathieu Turi will be the director of the movie.

The release date of the movie has not been announced yet. However, the Watch Dogs series has created great controversy recently. The series, which has three games in total, has been disappointing, especially with its latest production Watch Dogs: Legion was a disappointment.

On the other hand, Ubisoft’s history with movie adaptations is mixed. The Assassin’s Creed movie did not achieve the expected success at the box office. However, it has produced successful TV series such as Captain Laserhawk.
