Although there is a bit of prejudice against game adaptations in the movie industry, this taboo has been broken recently. After the 2022 movie based on Naughty Dog’s beloved game series, the sequel was eagerly awaited. We knew that the Uncharted 2 movie production was in the writing stage and good news came from the lead Mark Wahlberg.
Uncharted 2 movie script completed, shooting will start soon
The first Uncharted movie introduced audiences to a younger version of Nathan Drake, played by Tom Holland, who embarks on a treasure hunting journey with Victor Sullivan, played by Mark Wahlberg. Although the first movie received mixed reviews from critics, it left a good impression on audiences and grossed $407 million worldwide.
Unlike direct adaptations of some games, the movie stayed true to the core of the Uncharted series, featuring familiar characters and thematic elements. With the groundwork laid and the story left open-ended, we look forward to Nathan Drake’s new adventures
Recently, Mark Wahlberg confirmed that the script for Uncharted 2 is now complete. Wahlberg, who plays Victor Sullivan, revealed that he received a phone call informing him that the script was finished. Preparing to reprise his role, Wahlberg was instructed to start growing his mustache, the signature feature of the character of Sully.
Wahlberg’s comments hinted at the potential progression of the sequel, but he was cautious not to reveal too much. Expressing his curiosity and excitement about the story, Wahlberg is aware that the first film was well received and that a sequel is expected.
