According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has officially started developing the next generation M4 chip. Considering that MacBook Air models with M3 were recently introduced, this is a very important development for the company.
The details of the M4 processor are not yet known. However, reports suggest that it will power MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini and other Mac models. It was stated that the M4 will promise higher performance and efficiency by preserving the 3nm process.
There will also be some improvements on the optimization side. This shows that it will have significant gains in both performance and efficiency compared to the M3 chip. The M4 platform is likely to hit the market in late 2024 or 2025.
