David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation, Shazam) will direct the movie based on Supermassive Games’ PS4 horror game. The screenplay will be written by Gary Dauberman, writer of the Annabelle series and It: Chapter Two and the Annabelle series.
This week, it was announced that Maia Mitchell, Belmont Cameli and Peter Stormare have joined the cast. Stormare looks set to reprise his role as Dr. Hill from the original game. “When the Lights Go Out and Annabelle: After Lights Out and Annabelle: Birth of Evil, I’ve long wanted to do horror again, and this movie aims to create the scariest experience by exploring the many sub-genres of horror,” Sandberg told The Hollywood Reporter. “By capturing the essence of the game but with new characters, this movie offers a great introduction for newcomers and something new for fans of the game.”
