The way of running Windows on Macbooks which have Apple silicon: Parallels Desktop

Ana sayfa / macOS

Apple has been using its own processors for a while. Processors with ARM infrastructure, which we call Apple Silicon, were very popular. M1 and M2 processors are used in new Macbooks. Macbooks with Intel processors could use Windows with an Apple tool. This tool called Bootcamp allowed us to install Windows on Macbooks. But this is not possible on Macbooks with Apple Silicon. But there are other ways. The most popular of these is Parallels Desktop.

It is possible to use Windows with Parallels Desktop on M1, M2 Macbooks

Paralells is a software company. Parallels Desktop is a product that constantly releases new versions and allows us to use Windows on Macbooks. Parallels Desktop, a virtualization software, is an alternative to VMWare.

As of the date of this writing, 18.02.2023 has its latest version, version 18. The company, which fixes performance problems and brings new features with each new update, has received the likes of its users with this latest version.

You can adjust how much external space you can allocate, how much RAM you can allocate, and other customization settings in Paralells Desktop’s settings. Since it is a virtualization software, you can adjust the settings yourself, unlike Bootcamp. You can access the 14-day trial version of Parallels Desktop from this link.

So much so that Macbook users using Parallels Desktop can play many games. Fortnite, Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V and more are all possible with Parallels. Of course, the processor you use here is also important. M1 and M1 Max will give different performance results.

With the latest updates, you can drag a file installed on MacOS to your Parallels Desktop installed on Windows. It is also worth mentioning that it is fully compatible with the latest version of MacOS, MacOS Ventura.
