After buying Twitter and turning it into X, Elon Musk is constantly making innovations on the social media platform to do everything. Although he continues to lose users despite this, Elon Musk seems to be putting an end to this decline with Vine videos.
Elon Musk opened a poll for Vine! New hope for Vine videos
Elon Musk promised Vine when he bought Twitter two years ago. Actually, it was thought that Musk had long since forgotten this promise. However, with the poll he opened today through the X account, fans of the application started to get excited again. In fact, Musk had opened a similar poll two years ago. However, this poll may mean that the application is ready.
Musk asked a simple question in the poll: Should Vine come back or not? So far, more than 900 thousand people have voted in the poll, with those in favor of Vine’s return leading by 70 percent. As you know, Elon Musk attaches great importance to such polls. In fact, he even made serious decisions like selling Tesla shares based on a poll. In this sense, a new era for the application could begin after the poll results.
These famous short videos bid farewell to social media eight years ago. Although they may not mean much to the new generation, many important comedians we know today gained fame with Vine videos. Aykut Elmas, Halil Söyletmez, and Cem Gelinoğlu are just a few examples. But what exactly was Vine?
Today, it would be more accurate to say that short TikTok videos and Instagram Reels are in great demand. However, Vine videos were there before all of them. The application, acquired by Twitter in 2012, became even more popular in 2013. The platform, which allowed users to shoot six-second Vine videos, led to the emergence of very creative content. The application, which opened the way for creative short videos on social media, closed in a senseless manner in 2016.
Twitter kept the application’s website active for a long time to access the content. Accordingly, users could no longer upload videos to the application, but they could still access old videos. However, although the site is still alive, it is no longer possible to access old videos.
So do you think Vine videos should come back? When do you think Elon Musk will take action for the TikTok competitor application? We await your comments.
