vivo has announced the OriginOS 6 update in China. Based on Android 16, this update offers user interface improvements, increased performance, and AI-powered tools. It also adds cross-device integration and enhanced security features.
Design and User Interface Innovations
OriginOS 6 offers a more intuitive interface with its “Light and Shadow Space” design, creating a natural light and depth effect. Notifications are now stacked, and Gradual Blur effects sharpen the background, making images more visible. Mirror Screen and AI Lighting Effects enable dynamic changes from different angles. On the lock screen, the Huarong Grid modular design offers flexibility in clock and photo placement.
The Blue River Performance Engine delivers smooth performance with its lightweight architecture and dual-path GPU processing. App launches are 11% faster with the Super Core Architecture. Data processing speed is increased by 230% under heavy loads thanks to the Photonic Architecture, maintaining system responsiveness even in multitasking and high-performance scenarios.
OriginOS 6 optimizes battery usage in videos and games with Scene Intelligence 2.0. AI Photo Cleanup allows you to delete unwanted objects from Live Photos. Xiao V Circle Search 2.0 recognizes on-screen links and products. Little V Memory 2.0 organizes screen content contextually.
With vivo Office Suite, file sharing is quick and easy between phones, PCs, and the web. Cross-Ecosystem Group Sharing enables high-resolution photo transfers simply by shaking devices. iPad connectivity, Small Window 2.0, and power management solutions ensure seamless transitions between devices.
OriginOS 6 utilizes the CHAD full-stack AI security framework. The vivo X100 series was the first to receive this certification. It also complies with international safety standards through DNV, Common Criteria, UL, and ioXt certifications.
AI-powered Eye Comfort and Sleep Mode features reduce eye strain and increase melatonin production. Dynamic Vision Assistance reduces motion blur. Clear Voice Enhancement and Bluetooth Hearing Aid support are also available for accessibility.
OriginOS 6 will be pre-installed on the vivo X300 series and iQOO 15 models. It will be gradually rolled out to other devices in China starting in November 2025. Global rollout details will be announced on October 15th.
