Exciting details continue to emerge about Vivo’s new smartphone series, the Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini, expected to be unveiled in China in December. It was already known that the powerful Vivo S50 Pro Mini would launch with the recently unveiled flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. However, the processor powering the standard S50 model remained a matter of curiosity. A new Geekbench listing has revealed that the standard S50 will also feature a Snapdragon 8-series chip.
Vivo S50 Design: iPhone-Like Camera Island
The first released image reveals the side profile of the Vivo S50 series, confirming the use of an aerospace-grade metal frame. Another image reveals that the S50 series will feature a triangular camera setup similar to the iPhone, housed in a square camera island with rounded corners. This design gives the device a modern and premium look.
The Vivo S50, model number V2582A, was reportedly spotted with a 90W fast charger on China’s 3C certification platform earlier this month. Now, the same model has surfaced in the Geekbench database.
CPU and GPU details revealed in the Vivo S50’s Geekbench listing indicate that the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset. The device runs on 16GB of RAM and the latest Android 16 operating system.
Vivo had previously confirmed that the entire S50 series would be equipped with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. In Geekbench tests, the Vivo S50 achieved strong performance, achieving a single-core score of 2044 and a multi-core score of 5851.
According to other reports, the Vivo S50 may feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The rear camera setup is expected to include a Sony IMX882 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Other details about the phone remain a mystery at this time.
