Vivo has already released two foldable smartphones, known as X Fold and X Fold+, in China last year, but they have yet to be introduced in any country worldwide. However, it is now reported that Vivo is working on a new device called X Flip, which will compete with phones such as Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Oppo Find N2 Flip. Vivo has not confirmed the future of the X Flip model yet. However, a reliable Chinese tech tipster named Digital Chat Station made a post on Weibo saying, “Vivo X Flip SM8475…coming soon.” Of course, this is not a definite announcement, so it may take some time for X Flip to be released.
Based on when Vivo introduced its past phones, we can make a prediction about the release date of X Flip. Vivo X Fold was introduced in April of last year, while X Fold+ came in September. Therefore, curious anticipation will begin in the coming days, but it could extend until the end of the summer.
Although these dates may not mean much since there may not be a continuation of the series, it is generally the case that foldable phones are still a new category for many manufacturers. Vivo X90 series was also released in November 2022, representing other flagship models.

As you can see, none of these devices are cheap. Developing and implementing foldable screens is still very expensive, which is why the Vivo X Flip model is expected to come with a price tag of around €1,000/£1,000.
Vivo X Flip specs
It’s not surprising that we don’t have much information about what Vivo will do for its first foldable phone. However, according to a leak that emerged today, the outer second screen of the Vivo X Flip will be horizontal, similar to the Motorola Razr 2022.
This supports other leaks that have emerged in recent days. According to these leaks, there will be a rectangular external panel with a circular camera module on top. Additionally, a concept render created by a Weibo user shows a 682-pixel wide screen with a rectangular cover and a circular camera module on top. This time, however, only a two-lens ring with a Zeiss logo is visible.
According to GSMArena, the device will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The Geekbench listing, believed to belong to a phone with the model number X Flip, shows that this processor is supported by 12GB of RAM and runs on Android 13.
Another leak is about the camera, screen, and battery. The main screen is said to be a 6.8-inch, 120Hz OLED panel, and the phone will come with a 4400mAh battery and 44W charging. Additionally, it will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 primary camera and a 12-megapixel IMX663 ultra-wide-angle camera.
