Ana sayfa / Technology

Volkswagen has confirmed that it will stop sales of its legendary sedan model starting next year. In an announcement sent to its partners in the US, Volkswagen announced that the Arteon 2024 model will not be released in the US.

Volkswagen has stated that it will stop Arteon sales in the United States. In the notification sent to dealers, the automotive giant stated that the 2023 model year marks the end of Arteon production for the US market.

First introduced in 2017, the Arteon was Volkswagen’s flagship sedan targeting rivals like the Audi A5 Sportback. With its sleek design and spacious interior, the vehicle met expectations in the automotive market with its high-level comfort. However, it seems to have struggled to gain traction among American drivers.

NASA shared the video showing the entry of the Orion Spacecraft, which made the Artemis I project successful, into the Earth's atmosphere.

VW was able to sell only 1155 Arteon sedans in the US until the first half of 2023. In contrast, the Jetta sold over 16 thousand units in the same period. The decline in Arteon sales was reportedly even steeper from 2022 to 2023.

We know that Volkswagen is trying to streamline its product range as part of its strategy towards electric vehicles. So it’s no surprise that the Arteon is being discontinued for the US. It remains unclear whether this decision is specific to the US market.

While the Arteon has not been successful in the US, a company spokesperson revealed that they are working on a premium sedan model. He stated that the ID.7 electric sedan, which is planned to go on sale in 2025, will replace the Arteon.
