Volkswagen officially gains ChatGPT support

Ana sayfa / News

German automotive giant Volkswagen has successfully completed its long-awaited ChatGPT integration. The company announced that integration for many different vehicle models has been finalized.

Officials from the German automaker had previously indicated their efforts towards ChatGPT integration back in January.

In a statement released by the company in recent months, it was highlighted that GPT has been developed in conjunction with their own voice response system, promising a highly specialized user experience. According to the announcement published today on Volkswagen’s official website, a new AI-powered assistant named Cerence Chat Pro is now available for use in all supported vehicles.

As of today, Cerence Chat Pro will serve users in 5 different languages. Initially available in English (US), English (UK), German, Spanish, and Czech, the ChatGPT-supported voice assistant is being rolled out across Volkswagen group models such as Cupra, Seat, Skoda, Tiguan, Golf, and Passat.

Cancelled! Volkswagen couldn’t launch its new model

Volkswagen unexpectedly postponed the U.S. launch of the ID.7 model, pulling the electric vehicle from the market before it even debuted.

Kai Grünitz, Volkswagen Brand Board Member responsible for Development, commented:
“Volkswagen has a long tradition of integrating new technologies. As a volume manufacturer, we are making these technologies accessible to a wide range of people. By seamlessly integrating ChatGPT into our voice assistant, we offer drivers the opportunity to use this artificial intelligence on a daily basis, highlighting how innovative our products are.”

Following this integration, drivers will be able to get instant answers to useful questions such as “Where is the nearest electric vehicle charging station?” or “What will the weather be like tomorrow?” Additionally, when the driver is tired, various music options will play, and adjustments for vehicle interior settings like lighting and temperature can also be made.
