Volkswagen’s much criticized vehicle design is changing!

Ana sayfa / News

Volkswagen is embarking on a comprehensive revamp of its electric vehicles ID.3 and ID.4. The company’s head of development, Kai Grünitz, has announced plans to “reshape” the design of the much-criticized models. The new design will be closer to Volkswagen’s traditional brand identity. There will also be significant changes in the areas of interior design, material quality and performance.

Although the ID.3 and ID.4 were important models that marked Volkswagen’s entry into the world of electric vehicles, they failed to achieve the expected sales success in the European market. This led to criticism that the design language of the models did not sufficiently meet user expectations. Volkswagen has decided to reshape the models in line with the criticism.

According to Kai Grünitz, the redesign will not be limited to the exterior. Major battery cost reductions and performance improvements are planned. In addition, new driving support technologies will be added to the vehicles. The company also plans to improve the quality of materials inside the vehicle. The cheap plastics previously used will be replaced by more luxurious and durable fabrics.

Volkswagen ID.3 has been the focus of criticism from time to time due to its high prices in Europe. The starting price of approximately 39 thousand 990 Euros in Germany was criticized for being sold at 16 thousand Euros in China. With the new updates, Volkswagen is expected to make this price difference more reasonable.

In short, we can say that the brand plans to both stick to its traditional identity of the past and follow an innovative path in the modern electric vehicle market.
