The popular action movie series John Wick is moving to the world of TV series. The official trailer for The Continental, a new series set in the John Wick universe, has been shared. Mel Gibson and Colin Woodell will play the lead roles in the series. So what is the plot and release date of The Continental? Here are the details.
The Continental will be released on Peacock on September 22
The Continental, produced by digital streaming giant Peacock, will be set before the John Wick movie series. Shot as a three-part miniseries, it will tell the story of Winston Scott, played by Colin Woodell, as he takes over the Continental Hotel.
The official trailer shows New York in the 1970s. Mel Gibson will play Cormac, a mobster who advises the lead character about the Continental. The series will feature plenty of action scenes and references to Keanu Reeves’ movies.
The Continental Peacock. According to the announcement, the first episode will be available on September 22, the second episode on September 29 and the final episode on October 6. Produced by the John Wick team, the series stars Mel Gibson, Colin Woodell, Ayomide Adegun and Peter Greene.
It should be noted that the Peacock platform does not officially serve in Turkey. However, considering the demand for the series, there is a possibility that it may be licensed by a different platform.
On the other hand, the expansion of the John Wick world does not go unnoticed. Stating that they have been in talks with various studios in the past months and that they are evaluating the offers, producer Lionsgate stated that they will develop a big budget game.
