Watching YouTube videos will be painful!

Ana sayfa / News

One of the world’s most important platforms, YouTube, is following a path that users won’t much appreciate when it comes to advertising.

YouTube, one of the world’s largest content platforms, has transformed into another realm with the success it has achieved in recent years. As a significant source of income for content creators, the platform has grown its revenue substantially. However, the company is currently implementing an unpleasant policy on advertising to push users towards its paid subscription service.

YouTube is introducing 30-second unskippable ads on smart TVs

Like many content platforms, YouTube is also increasing its investment in its paid subscription system. The platform, which also serves in the free tier, has long been sending a clear message to its users with its deterring policies: become a YouTube Premium subscriber.

According to a news shared by YouTube Ads Marketing, the company is making its advertising policy on smart TVs even more ruthless. The company is doubling the ad duration. 30-second unskippable ads are now being introduced on TVs. Although it does not apply to every video, the longest ad duration of 15 seconds is now doubling.

No more ad blockers!

Those who want to avoid YouTube’s ad approach are choosing the Premium path. Many people are using ad blockers. The company is aware of this situation. In this scenario, which many users complain about and includes unskippable 30-second ads, most users are using ad blockers. Today, it was noticed that YouTube does not allow ad blockers.

Even though YouTube attracts a lot of criticism for this experiment by not allowing ad blockers, the company does not seem to give up this method. According to the company’s policy, users will either watch ads or purchase the Premium subscription option by paying. We may see the effects of this situation more clearly in the future.
