Apple recently released the missing RC version of the beta phase for watchOS 11.1, completing the update rollout. Now, developers and public beta users have the opportunity to experience the latest operating system for Apple Watch. While Apple plans to release a comprehensive series of updates next week for platforms like iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS, Apple Watch users are not being left out.
watchOS 11.1 RC now available
The watchOS 11.1 RC (release candidate) version released today is presented as the final version expected to go public next week. However, if any significant issues or missing features are identified in this beta version, Apple may release another RC version in the coming days to ensure that potential bugs are fixed before reaching millions of users worldwide.
So far, the new features in watchOS 11.1 have been quite limited. Similarly, today’s RC version is not expected to bring any major updates or standout changes. Instead, the focus is primarily on bug fixes and performance improvements ahead of the public release.
Last month, Apple delivered a series of extensive software updates across different platforms. However, the company is gearing up to release another wave next week, including updates like iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, macOS Sequoia 15.1, watchOS 11.1, visionOS 2.1, and tvOS 18.1. One of the most anticipated new features is the introduction of Apple Intelligence, which will bring advanced AI-based functionalities to iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.
Although Apple Watch does not officially support Apple Intelligence, it will still benefit from some smart features when paired with an iPhone updated to iOS 18.1. For instance, the notification summaries feature will allow users to track their daily notifications more efficiently.
