What does the Adobe VideoGigaGAN artificial intelligence model do?
VideoGigaGAN , which Adobe recently announced that it has developed, is an artificial intelligence model that can enhance low-quality videos up to eight times their original resolution, that is, its main purpose is to increase video quality.
Adobe VideoGigaGAN technology can upscale low-resolution videos, such as 128 x 128 pixels, to a resolution of 1024 x 1024 pixels, increasing the total pixel count from 16 thousand 384 to 1 million 48 thousand 576 , thereby significantly improving image quality.
Likewise, a video with a size of 128 x 128 pixels can also be upscaled to a resolution of 512 x 512 pixels . As a result, video quality can increase up to eight times. The company states that the artificial intelligence model offers a realistic image improvement by successfully preserving details such as human skin texture, wrinkles and hair strands.
Adobe uses a stream-directed propagation module in its VideoGigaGAN artificial intelligence model to ensure visual consistency between video frames. In addition, anti-aliasing technique is used to reduce artificial effects in videos and high frequency feature transfer technology is used to prevent sudden losses in details that may occur when switching to high resolution.
