Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, may process some of your publicly available data to improve its productive systems. Fortunately, you can officially object to Meta’s AI infrastructure using this information.
What data does Meta AI use?
The company collects a variety of publicly available information to train and improve its models. This includes your posts, the photos you share, and the captions you write on them. This also includes your comments on public platforms.
Private messaging with friends or family is not included in this training process. However, if you choose to share messages directly with the AI in a chat, this may change. Therefore, it’s important to be mindful of your sharing. You can object to your data being used here.
When you object to the use of your data, Meta will send you a confirmation email. This objection will apply to all connected accounts you’ve added to the Accounts Center. However, if you appear in content shared by others, Meta may continue to process this data.
So, what are your thoughts on Meta’s data policy? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
