WhatsApp has released a revolutionary update that will fundamentally change communication habits. With version 25.27.73 released for the iOS platform, the app’s “Calls” tab has been completely revamped, providing users with a much more capable and unified interface. This new feature, called “Unified Call Hub,” transforms WhatsApp from a simple messaging app into a fully-fledged communication hub.
WhatsApp is transforming
Until now, making voice, video, or group calls on WhatsApp required different steps. The new update puts an end to this complexity, bringing all call types under one roof. Users can now easily make voice and video calls, ongoing group calls, and even dial a number not saved in their contacts through the revamped “Calls” tab.
This new interface not only simplifies initiating calls but also offers practical features such as quick access to favorite contacts. Additionally, the participant limit for group calls has been increased to 31, making the app a more robust alternative for both social gatherings and small-scale business meetings. The “+” button added to the corner of the screen allows for convenient initiation of both individual and group calls.
Perhaps the most striking and groundbreaking innovation of the update is the integrated internal dialer into the “Calls” tab. This feature will allow users to call a phone number not currently listed in their contact list directly from WhatsApp, just like the traditional call screen on their phone.
This feature makes WhatsApp a serious competitor to traditional carrier calls. When you dial the number you want to call, the system automatically verifies it and instantly tells you whether the other person is a WhatsApp user. This allows you to communicate directly from the app without the hassle of adding the number of a business or someone you’ve just met to your contact list.
When Will the Update Be Available?
WhatsApp’s iOS 25.27.73 update is now available for download on the App Store. However, the rollout of the “Unified Call Center” feature is being phased in. Therefore, users who haven’t yet seen the new interface despite updating the app need not worry. The feature is expected to be available to all users within the next few days. This strategic move further demonstrates Meta’s vision of making WhatsApp an indispensable communication tool in all aspects of life.
