Meta’s popular messaging app, WhatsApp, continues to introduce new features for its users. This time, the app plans to significantly enhance the powers of group and community administrators, giving them much more control over the visibility of groups.
WhatsApp Starts Testing New Features
In the latest beta version for Android, 2.24.17.5, a new feature under development has been revealed. This update will allow community administrators to manage who can see specific group chats. With this feature, community group chats can be made accessible only to members who receive an invitation.
Administrators can use this option to hide group chats from the general community members and allow access only to invited members and administrators. Moreover, visibility settings can be adjusted even for members who have been accepted into the group.
Currently, only a limited number of beta testers with the latest WhatsApp Android beta version can try out this new community group chat visibility feature. However, as with previous updates, these new features will soon be available to all Android and iOS users.
WhatsApp is also developing a new feature that will allow you to share voice messages with Meta AI. Meta AI will serve as the company’s free artificial intelligence assistant, available across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, and it will be equipped with augmented reality features on Android.
Feel free to share your thoughts on these updates in the comments.
