WhatsApp statuses work similar to Instagram Stories. Statuses shared by users disappear after 24 hours. In this context, it is also possible to share photos, videos, text and audio.
A recent feature allows users to react to statuses using emoji. However, this means that users receive notifications for each reaction. The new feature seen in the beta version of the Android app will allow users to turn off these notifications.
If the new feature is enabled, users will no longer receive notifications from those who like their status updates or send emoji. This change shows that the messaging app will further customize the user experience.
