WhatsApp native app finally coming to iPad

WhatsApp, the world’s most widely used and popular messaging app, has never offered an app for iPad. Instead, iPad users who wanted to use the platform had to use the web version of WhatsApp using a mobile browser. This was one of the needs that users had been bothered and demanded for a long time. The good news came only this year.

It’s been mentioned from time to time, including a few years ago when Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp chief Will Cathcart discussed a possible iPad app for WhatsApp in a group chat. But now it’s official, because it’s in beta.

The latest version of WhatsApp Beta (version 23.19.1.71), available exclusively through Apple’s TestFlight app, is compatible with the iPad. To install the app on your iPad, you need to be a member of the official WhatsApp for iOS beta program on TestFlight.

Once installed you will need to scan a QR code using your iPhone. The app will then download all your conversations and you will be able to send and receive messages from your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
