WhatsApp redesigns messaging and settings screens

Ana sayfa / Social Media

WhatsApp has started testing two new design changes in its beta app. One of these changes will affect the Settings screen and the other will affect the messaging screen. The new animations in the tests conducted for Android and iOS did not go unnoticed.

Design changes for WhatsApp Settings and animations

First, WhatsApp will get a new animation when switching between audio and video call modes during messaging. Users will be able to switch between audio and video mode by tapping the microphone icon at the bottom right during chat.

The update also redesigned the tool that appears when switching between audio and video mode. The new design seems to follow the Material 3 design provided by Google.

WhatsApp rolls out new feature to create groups without names

WhatsApp is solving a group problem that has been going on for years. With the new update, anonymous groups can be created.

In addition to the new animation, WhatsApp is also redesigning the calls that appear in the chat. More details will now be shown when a call is missed, ended or silenced. Users will be able to share notes like “Do Not Disturb”.

The Settings screen is also getting a number of improvements. Users noticed a new icon in the top bar of the app that shows profile photos and redirects to settings. This section is labeled “You” and includes key features such as privacy, contacts and user profile.

A personal QR code above the profile photo allows you to quickly share your profile. Other sections of the app, such as “Account”, also have renewed icons.
