Meta has been improving the popular messaging platform, WhatsApp, since it has owned the platform. A week ago, the company launched Instant Video Messages, and now it is bringing a new feature, which was available in beta for a while. Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced the new update via his Facebook account by introducing the Screen-Sharing feature during a video call on WhatsApp. Here are the details about the WhatsApp Screen-sharing feature…
WhatsApp’s Screen-Sharing feature will be out of beta
We’ve all been used to being able to use the screen-sharing feature for a long time. Especially during the pandemic, video conferencing services like Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, have developed their screen-sharing mode to provide a better experience. For a while, WhatsApp has been working on this feature, and it was available in beta versions. Now, Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the platform is adding the expected feature, Screen-Sharing.
According to the press release by Meta, the feature is available via the “Share” icon, where you can both share your entire screen or a specific app. The company says that WhatsApp screen-sharing feature can be used for, “sharing documents for work, browsing photos with family, planning a vacation or shopping online with friends, or just helping grandparents with tech support.”
About one hour ago, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared the new feature with an image by saying, “We’re adding the ability to share your screen during a video call on WhatsApp.” With this update, WhatsApp is expected to be used more active instead of Telegram, Signal, or Discord.
Additionally, the popular messaging service is preparing to launch a new landscape mode for video calls on mobile. WhatsApp explains this feature as a wider and more immersive viewing and sharing experience.
