WhatsApp will offer increased contrast!

Ana sayfa / News

WhatsApp is taking a new step towards improving the user experience on the Android platform. The company has started testing a new accessibility feature called increased contrast in the beta version of the app.

This feature, which was developed especially for users with visual impairments, reduced visual perception due to age, or difficulty distinguishing colors, will increase in-app readability and visual clarity.

The new contrast setting makes the color difference between WhatsApp’s user interface components, such as text, icons, buttons, and backgrounds, more visible. In this way, users can read texts more easily and select visual elements more easily.

When the increased contrast option is activated, the WhatsApp interface changes from the default design to a layout with sharper lines and higher contrast. While foreground elements are highlighted with bolder or darker colors, the background is left behind with lighter or neutral tones.

WhatsApp’s previous steps in accessibility included features such as font size settings, screen reader compatibility, and media subtitle support. Increased contrast will be the newest link on this list.

This feature, which is currently only accessible to Android beta users, is still in development. WhatsApp officials have not given a date for when the feature will be added to the stable version.
