New details have emerged about Nintendo’s highly anticipated next-generation console, the Nintendo Switch 2, which has been shrouded in secrecy for nearly two years. According to recent reports, fans may need to hold off their excitement a bit longer. Here’s the latest information…
Nintendo Switch 2 Won’t Launch Before 2025
Chris Dring, the president of GamesIndustry, shared exclusive information from Nintendo developers during the Gi Microcast program, stating that the Nintendo Switch 2 is not expected to be released before March 31, 2025.
Dring mentioned that none of the developers he communicated with believed the Nintendo Switch 2 would be released within this financial year. The earliest estimate from the developers suggests a release between April and May 2025. However, it is also mentioned that the launch is unlikely to be delayed into the latter half of 2025.
There are conflicting reports about the release date as well. Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe claimed that Nintendo might accelerate its announcement plans, with the console potentially being revealed before the end of August.
While there is no official confirmation yet, it is expected that the Nintendo Switch 2 could be released in the first quarter of 2025. In the meantime, gamers are eagerly anticipating the new console’s features and innovations. If the rumors are accurate, the Switch 2 may come with hardware at least on par with the Xbox Series X and PS5.
