Which processors will Windows 11 24H2 run on?

Ana sayfa / Windows

Microsoft has accelerated work on 24H2, its last major update that will bring new features to Windows 11. The update, which is expected to be available to all users in the coming months, will also end support for some processors.

Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 preview build revealed that the operating system will withdraw support from some older processors. With Windows 11 build 26058, models such as Intel Core 2 Quad are not supported.

It was revealed that Windows 11 24H2 requires a processor command in the form of POPCNT. This feature, first developed by Intel in 2008, is now included in many AMD and Intel processors. However, it causes problems in Windows 11 because it is not from older models.

This is what Windows 12 may look like on mobile

A new concept for the mobile version of Windows 12 has been released. Microsoft has no plans to come to mobile.

It is unclear why Microsoft added the POPCNT requirement, but it is thought that it added it to take advantage of artificial intelligence and machine learning features in the upcoming Windows 11 versions. This is causing some legacy systems to be disabled.

This has caused controversy in computer forums. Some users think that POPCNT has been around for more than 16 years, so there should be no compatibility issues. Others said that command controls had just been enabled.

The new version of Windows 11 aims to offer a richer experience to its users, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence tools. It should also be noted that this feature is currently under development and may cause instability on some devices.
