Why did the Apple TV name change? Is it for Türkiye?

Ana sayfa / News

Apple has drawn attention with the name change for its popular streaming platform, Apple TV. Long known as Apple TV+, the service will now be known simply as Apple TV. The tech giant aims to create a simpler and more user-friendly brand image with this change. Eddy Cue’s statements clarified the reasons behind this decision.

Eddy Cue stated that there was no specific reason for the name change. Recalling Apple’s use of the “+” prefix for its other paid services (such as iCloud+ and News+), Cue said, “We’ve always called the service Apple TV, so it was time for a change.” This simplification aims to increase brand consistency and make it easier for users to get used to the service. The name change also raises the possibility of Apple TV expanding into new markets like Turkey.

Apple TV is not yet officially available in Turkey. However, the name change could be part of the service’s strategy to reach a wider audience. Therefore, it’s an exciting development for users in Turkey. The newly renamed Apple TV could gain a stronger position in the global market.

In addition to the name change, Apple is also making headlines with its new hardware products. According to Mark Gurman, the M5-powered iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and MacBook Pro will be unveiled soon. These products will be announced directly on Apple’s website rather than at a special event. Additionally, products such as the M5 Pro and M5 Max-powered MacBook Pro models, the new AirTag, HomePod mini, and the iPhone 17e will be released in 2026. One of the most notable innovations is the potential launch of the foldable iPhone Fold in 2026.
