By identifying patterns in human language, Aleph Alpha began building large language models that are used to create their own text and analyze large numbers of documents. Aleph Alpha’s Lumi, a digital citizenship assistant, has been added to the map of Heidelberg, Germany. Lumi helps people in Heidelberg to report their residence, find out about garbage collection times or get ideas for leisure activities. This project is an important milestone on the road to digitized governance. Luminous, the company’s AI conversational model, also outperformed its competitors.
