STALKER 2, one of the most popular games of this year, did not disappoint the players’ years of waiting. GSC Game World’s production was released on PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms and achieved great success in a short time. Selling more than 1 million copies in the first 48 hours, the game managed to cover its development costs in just one month. So, will there be a PS5 version of the game? What are the plans? Here are the details…
Statement from STALKER 2 developer: PC and Xbox only!
It has long been a matter of curiosity whether STALKER 2 will come to the PlayStation 5 platform. Especially players who prefer Sony’s console are waiting for this popular production to reach them. Unfortunately, with the latest statements from the developer, it became clear that the PS5 version of the game is not on the agenda in any way.
Speaking to Tech4Gamers, GSC Game World Game Director Ievgen Grygorovych stated that STALKER 2 is currently only focused on PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Grygorovych made it clear that there are no plans for a PlayStation 5 port, saying, ‘We are completely focused on the development (and now support) of the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions.’
However, Grygorovych also declined to answer questions about the game’s alleged three-month-long secret deal for Xbox. Grygorovych said that only the versions they are currently developing and supporting are for PC and Xbox.
Although these statements disappoint PlayStation users, there is still a possibility that the situation may change in the future. Maksym Krippa, owner of GSC Game World, announced that they are targeting a revenue of 1 billion dollars with STALKER 2. In order to reach this big goal, publishing the game on a platform with a large user base such as PlayStation 5 can be a very logical step.
Well, what do you think about this? Have you played STALKER 2, or are you one of those waiting for a port from the Sony front? Don’t forget to share your opinions in the comments.
