Will Windows 11 be mandatory? Windows 10 may end

Ana sayfa / News

Microsoft announced that Windows 11 has seen a significant increase in users, with official support for Windows 10 set to end in 2025. The company no longer publishes official statistics on its operating systems, but according to Statcounter data, Windows 11’s market share rose to 38% as of February 2025. In other words, the system reached an all-time high with an increase of 1.35 points. So will Windows 11 be mandatory?

Windows 11 has come close to Windows 10 in some countries. For example, in Canada, Windows 11 has a 44.46% market share, while Windows 10 is the leader with 53.35%. However, in the United Kingdom, Windows 11 has overtaken Windows 10 (48.18%) with a rate of 50.41%. Despite all this, Windows 10 continues to be the most widely used Windows version with 58.83%.

Although it started to decline by losing 1.5 points in February 2025, the majority of users have not yet switched to the new operating system. In addition, Windows 7 still has a 2.3% market share and even older versions like Windows XP have a small user base. However, with Microsoft ending support, these older versions will face security risks.

Bad news for those waiting for Instagram’s Edits app!

The release date of Instagram Edits has been postponed. We will have to wait a while longer for the new video editing tool.

Microsoft ending support for Windows 10 may force companies and individual users to switch to Windows 11. However, many users are reluctant to switch due to hardware requirements and incompatibility of older systems with Windows 11. So there is no such thing as a forced migration for now.
