Windows 11 AI+ PCs Fail in Gaming Performance

Ana sayfa / News

Microsoft’s new Windows 11 AI+ PCs stand out with their powerful AI capabilities and long battery life, but they don’t have the same success when it comes to gaming performance. Equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite chips, these computers face some serious issues with gaming support, just like Apple Macs. They can run fewer games, especially compared to the x86 platform, and the gaming experience is weaker on these platforms. Here are the details…

Microsoft has developed a technology called Prism to solve this problem. Similar to Apple’s Rosetta 2 solution, this technology aims to run x86 applications on ARM-based Windows devices. However, tests have shown that this system does not currently offer sufficient performance.

Testing over 1,300 games by James McWhirter of Omdia showed that only about half of them run smoothly, and some popular games have other problems. For example, anti-cheat software for games like Fortnite and League of Legends doesn’t work properly on the ARM platform.

That means games are completely unplayable. Microsoft told the Wall Street Journal that graphically demanding games may not run on Copilot+ PCs. The company recommends gamers consider a different PC model if they’re looking for high performance.

To sum up, Windows 11 AI+ PCs offer strong performance in AI tasks, but clearly have a long way to go in terms of gaming performance. What do you think? You can leave your opinions in the comments section below.
